About Us

Eggert Law LLP was started in 2014 by attorneys N. Charles Eggert and Lauren M. Eggert. They are dedicated to the community and enjoy assisting with the legal needs of the area.

Charlie was born and raised on a farm in Waterloo, and grew up farming with his father, which he continues to do to this day. Charlie completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana. He specializes in estate planning and real estate. He is also a board member of the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation.

Lauren is an Indiana native, and completed her undergraduate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She met Charlie at Valparaiso University School of Law where she also received her Juris Doctor. Lauren practiced for three years in Indiana prior to moving to Wisconsin. She specializes in probate and general litigation. Lauren is also a trustee for Holy Family Parish Waterloo-Marshall, and is a board member of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.

The couple has a son Charles, who was born in December of 2015. They enjoy spending time with him, and their families. In addition to their law practice, the couple also owns and manages commerical and residential real estate, and Charlie farms cash crops with his father.

Personal experience allows us to successfully serve agricultural businesses throughout Wisconsin. As a farmer, Charlie has first hand knowledge of the issues commonly faced by clients. We can assist with custom agreements, forming entities, ​​advising on contracts and leases, assisting with the sale and purchase of​ real estate, employment issues, and succession pla​nning.

Family Law

We assist clients with a variety of family law issues including divorces, custody issues, child support, and guardianships, among other matters.

As business owners, we understand the issues encountered by owners on a daily basis, from employee issues, tax matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, to buying and selling real estate, collections, and defending your business in litigation matters.​


We serve business owners with their residential and commercial real estate issues, including drafting and negotiating leases, the sale and purchase of real estate, collecting rent, and handling evictions.

Estate Planning

​Eggert Law specializes in estate planning, including business succession planning for clients,​ using strategies to minimize tax and costs for our clients. We work with our clients in conjunction with their other advisers to make sure that they have appropriate plans in place in the event of death or disability.

Real Estate

​​​We advise clients on all aspects of buying and selling real estate, including offers to purchase and sell, land contracts, life estate agreements, option contracts, easements, ​and drafting and negotiating leases.​

The transfer of assets upon the death of a loved one can seem overwhelming. Whether your situation requires court supervised or unsupervised probate, administration of a trust, or both, Eggert Law is here to assist with the goal of minimizing stress during a difficult time.

Eggert Law handles a variety of litigation issues including administrative matters, arbitrations and state court disputes. ​​We frequently handle litigation matters for our business clients and work with them to achieve their bottom line in the most economic way.
